Today’s first glitch:
It is correct to use numerals when giving exact times that don’t round off to a full or half hour. (Write half past ten, but write 10:15.)
When a dialogue tag follows what is said, use a comma, not a period, to separate the dialogue from the tag, and do not capitalize the first word of the tag.
The elderly lady across the street gave you a pair of old spectacles and told you to put them on at 11:35 that night. “You’re the only one who can do it,” she whispered.
