…and then the source of “glitches” dried up.

I’ve mentioned that I like to use Pinterest to find examples for my “Writing Glitch” posts, right? Well, that source is no longer an option: I don’t know why, but Pinterest has been, for the last few months, throwing a lot of… very unpleasant pins at me. When it started, maybe thirty percent of my feed was right-wing politics and the occasional “Yay, Jesus!” sort of meme. I’m not interested in either, by the way,  and I’ve never pinned anything that would suggest an interest in such. A couple of days ago, at least eighty percent of the pins I was seeing were aggressively right-wing political and/or religious (not that the two can really be separated these days): books on Christian marriage counselling, Christian child rearing — and don’t think those weren’t triggering for someone whose PTSD is partly due to having been raised in a religious household — Christian business/financial advice… and lots of “Yay, Orange Thing! Boo, anyone who thinks non-white, non-male, non-Christian humans are human!” political memes and whatnot.

Anyway. I cannot tollerate Pinterest right now, so I need a new source for “glitch” examples, and soon. If any of you wonderful humans have a suggestion for where I can find some brief snippets of writing with bad grammar and punctuation (and maybe the occasional bad “science” thing), it would be much appreciated.

About Thomas Weaver

For several years, I’ve been putting my uncanny knack for grammar and punctuation, along with an eclectic mental collection of facts, to good use as a Wielder of the Red Pen of Doom (editor). I'm physically disabled, and I currently live with my smugly good-looking twin Paul, who writes military science fiction and refuses to talk about his military service because he can’t. Sometimes Paul and I collaborate on stories, and sometimes I just edit whatever he writes. It's worked out rather well so far. My list of non-writing-related jobs from the past includes librarian, art model, high school teacher, science lab gofer… Although I have no spouse or offspring to tell you about, I do have six cats. (The preferred term is "Insane Cat Gentleman.") I currently spend my time blogging, reading, editing, and fending off cats who like my desk better than my twin’s.

Well, I’m not totally joking, like maybe not at all (?), but you could always use my blog and or the comments I make (just don’t point and say “over at this blog . . .” 🙂 Seriously, there’s a ton of mistakes. I’ve noticed a lot of single verbs for plural subjects lately. I could use the friendly criticism as a learning tool.

  2. Twitter might be a place.

Facebook, but I avoid that because of politics. It’s actually put a wedge between some of my family and me after I learned more than I ever wished to know about some of them.
