Maybe I’m not supposed to tell you this yet, but then again, he didn’t tell me not to…
The clone-sibling hit a small snag in writing the final book of his sci-fi series The Awakening. So he set it aside, the way one does, and worked on something else instead. That something else being revisions to a contemporary thriller he wrote years ago (it was his first novel: before this, he’d written only short fiction) and then stuck in a box to ignore except for occasionally wondering if he should do something with Providence.
Well, he’s doing something with Providence now. As of noon on January 2, Paul was more than seventy-five percent done with revisions; it’s possible that the manuscript will be in my hands for copyediting next week.
(I did copyedit this manuscript… more than a decade ago. This round will be even easier. The sequel to this novel is also just waiting for revisions, but it should need less work than the first one, because the writing and the plot were more polished from the very start.)
